September 12, 2013 FCM Meeting

Randy began by showing a small empty box which represents our empty lives. He then produced beautiful, shiny flowers, representing the beautiful things we have in our lives when we accept Christ!—packs small—plays big!

Rick demonstrated how we can choose a full life with Jesus using 4 glasses covered with different colored cloth bags. A great gospel illustration!

Leland talked about the choices we make in life, using ropes. A rope that has strands that can be broken represented poor choices. He then magically produced knots on a strong rope, which represented good choices that we can hold on to. Leland then shared his wife’s experience this week involving a car accident. We are so glad she was not hurt.

Tim shared his D’Lites with us. He involves his granddaughter in the demonstration as they “throw” the light back and forth. Jesus is the true light of the world.

Mark Childers, our guest gave us a brief background of his experiences in magic. He has been interested in magic since he was a small boy. He has his daughter assist him in shows and one of his goals is to develop a show that he can perform on short notice. He is really excited to have found our organization and is looking forward to learning and sharing with us. We are delighted you came, Mark. We are looking forward to getting to know you!

Lynn shared with us the joy he had rafting in Colorado. The magnificence of God’s creation brought to mind that Jesus, in all of His power and glory, can still look at each one of us and love us and care about us. Lynn also shared that during the talent night on his adventure he was able to do some impromptu magic!!! We are sure he was the hit of the evening!

Hunter gave us a great demonstration of a card trick!! We appreciate his dexterity and his willingness to share!!

John then demonstrated the Chair Suspension, using unsuspecting Kristen as his “suspensionee”!! Thank you, Kristen! He also demonstrated the very old Super X Levitation. It was good to see the details of the two very often performed stage illusions!!

We voted to move the next meeting to the THIRD Thursday of October—October 17 due to a conflict of schedule.

We remember our absent friends, those unable to come and those on mission trips. We look forward to next month.
